After finding out what skin type you are, you need to know how to deal with it and to know what type of products to use.
Most companies state what skin type their product is best for so you can see if the product will be useful to you.
If you have an oily or combo skin type then you need to find a moisturizer that is oil free. Putting oil on oil is not a good thing. If you wear makeup it is also best to find an oil free foundation/BB&CC cream and whatnot.

RESEARCH:
(warning! i read through this part & i say research a lot! forgive me & please bear with it:P)
I cannot stress how important research is. If you come across a product that is designed to deal with your skin problems it is best to do research on that product first before buying.
By research i mean googling reviews on that product. Before buying something i ALWAYS read about 50 reviews before buying it. If most of the peoples reviews i’ve read are positive then i go ahead & buy it. If not then i don’t. It’s that simple.
So go ahead & do some research before buying anything. This will also be useful for any product, not just skincare but cosmetics and other items.
If there are no reviews whatsoever on that product you need to think carefully. Are you going to risk it? is it expensive?
I never buy anything that has no reviews unless its cheap so that i’m not at a huge loss if it doesn't work :P but yeah, it’s totally up to you if you think it will work.
